Kansai Subway Website Checker

By admin | November 5, 2008

Here is a website that very useful for those who want to check on Kansai Subway timetable and exchange station.

http://www.surutto.com/cgi-bin/ekitan/ekitan.cgi

Useful Information are all showed inside, such as time need for the transportation, charges, which station to change train & Etcs.

The Kansai Thru Pass is available for 2 days & 3 days with 3,800 yen & 5,000 yen only. Just that I am curious that would the time spend in Subway are longer than JR or not. But the price is really cheap. JR 1 days is 2,000 yen.

Oh yeap! I haven’t try the Kansai Subway before, all these just the information I study at Backpacker forum. Record in this blog for future use. :p

Calculation For Taxi Fare In Japan

By admin | November 2, 2008

http://www.taxisite.com/ is a website I found from Backpacker forum. If you want to check the taxi fare within Japan, then this website properly would help you have estimate budget for the transport fees.

I heard that taxi fare is very expensive in Japan. However, something we have no choice to use it to save time and energy. Especially if you carrying big luggage to find the hotel.

example : Kyoto taxi fare is charging at 640-650 Yen for the first 2000meter and 80 yen for each 385m/339m.

Restaurant Aima At Redang

By admin | October 31, 2008

I just uploaded the picture of Malay Stall which close by Berjaya Redang Beach Resort. Below is Restaurant Aima which just located 3 mins walk time from Berjaya Redang Beach Resort. This restaurant is one of the Malay stall you can enjoy a cheaper meal if compare to Berjaya Redang Beach Resort restaurant. But I strongly suggest you to try their fried rice but not others.

We ordered below dish on the first day we arrived Redang, fried kangkung, dried egg, Tomyom seafood and spicy chicken. Somewhat disappointed because all dish was tasteless. However, the fried rice we have on the next day was unexpected tasty.

Where To Eat At Berjaya Redang 2 - Malay Stalls

By admin | October 28, 2008

Where to eat at Berjaya Redang Beach Resort beside their own restaurant ? I finally experience it and must write it down for future use. But I doubt that will I go back to Berjaya or not. Frankly, I won’t , because the expenses is real expensive. It might suitable for who are earning US dollar or Sterling only. There are few Malay stalls located nearby the Berjaya Redang Beach resort. The nearest one is about 3 minutes walk from the resort which actually just beside the resort. The family meal was so so, not worth to eat. But the fried rice and nasi public(?) ayam is yummy, at least I felt worth to pay for it. Cost about RM4 – RM5.00 per plate. Extremely cheap if you compare to Berjaya Restaurant.

Another 2 Malay stall is located 5 – 10 minutes walk from the resort. We didn’t walk that far due to having difficulty on “control” 4 “monkeys” (my daughters and sister children). But we tried roti canai from one of the mama stall. We bought it on the way we back from Island hoping by van. Taste very good, but I am not sure it is because of we are too hungry or what. Cost about RM0.80 – RM 1.00 each. (forgot the actual amount because pay for others snack as well

Where To Eat At Redang 1 - Berjaya Redang

By admin | October 23, 2008

Back to the Berjaya Restaurant, there are 2 restaurants available in the resort. Palm restaurant which is the place we have our buffet breakfast. We have our BBQ buffet on the first night, charged at RM$58 per head. Nothing special, just some basic meal that not so yummy. They serve buffet daily and also some ala cart food.

We already tried the ala cart food on the 3rd day. We ordered fried kangkung, fish & others normal Malay style disks. Taste not bad, I think it was much better than buffet. And it cost cheaper than buffet too.

Palm Restaurant

Another restaurant is Beach Grill Restaurant, a very good scenery restaurant for couples. Of cause what you pay is what you get. It’s quite expensive to have your meal here. I checked the menu before, a set of T-Bone steak charges about RM$80 - RM$90 before tax.

Redang Long Beach & Dinner

By admin | October 17, 2008

Redang Long Beach is the most merrier place in Redang Island. The things at Long Beach is much more cheaper if compare with Berjaya Redang. I strongly recommend young people who love group travel to get your group booking at Long Beach. Most of the resort are offer all inclusive package which is included 3 - 4 meals, rooms and 1 or 2 days snorkeling.

We have our dinner in summer place which is a Chinese Type restaurant and bar. Few singers are singing some nice song for customers. It will be a great place to spend your night.

This is the souvenir shop in movie titled “Summer Holiday” starring by Sammy Cheung and Richie Ren.

Crystal Clear SeaWater At Redang

By admin | October 10, 2008

Few photos that taken at Redang to share with you guys. Can you feel the refreshing sea air? Do you see the crystal clear seawater? I’m sure you will love to sleep and rest on the sand, enjoy the sun, beach and sea breeze. You can totally forget about works, trouble and whatever that make you not happy in this kind of environment.

Redang Island has become a popular beach for visitors since long time ago.  However, it still keep the beautiful and clean of the beach. It might not as clear and clean as 10 years ago, but for me it just nice. Not as dirty as what I saw in Kota Kinabalu Manukan Island .

Opps…this photo just to show you how clear the seawater is. Not meant to show my feet.

Berjaya Redang Beach Resort

By admin | October 3, 2008

But remember to check clearly which hotel you are booking with, because they have Berjaya Redang Beach Resort and berjaya Redang SPA resort which departure from airport. Same bus but different depature time. Anyway, you will hear them calling their hotel guest when the bus going to departure soon.

Here we are! Berjaya Redang Beach Resort

Views from our room, that is 4 rooms chalet which should be a deluxe room. I’m not sure the conditions in the room but it looks better than our superior room. Ohh..human always hope for better one.

Here is our superior room with twins bed. Room is kind of small, however it have no problem to fit 2 adult and 1 child. I’m kind of disappointed with the room environment actually. not the type of 5 stars hotel room I am expected.

Berjaya Air Airplane - Redang

By admin | September 30, 2008

I bought the air tickets from Subang airport to Redang Island by Berjaya Air. It cost us RM545.00 per adult and RM280.00 per children and senior citizen. I wasn’t satisfied with the “airplane” conditions. I meant pay that amount for an airplane that looks somewhat “old” seems like not worth at all. What do to? They are the only private airplane arrived Redang Island now. :(

My husband kind of shocked and saying, “wow, now still using the airplane with fan outside?”

The look of this airplane surely not new and it looks quite old actually. How about inside? hmm..I felt extremely heat when I stepped into the airplane, seem like they just started the engine and air-cond. Anyway, I feel not cold at all for the one hour and five minutes journey from Subang to Redang. How could I expect an Old air cond uncle work as a functioning young guy? :p

Not Qualified For Japan Visa

By admin | September 12, 2008

I have prepared all the documents that needed by Japan Visa application requirement. Hubby send all the documents to Embassy Japan one month before departure day. However he called me at noon and told me that they officer said we are not qualified for the visa!

They require RM6K save in bank account for each person. It is mean that you should have RM12K if apply for 2 visa and RM24K for 4 visa! WoW!! Oppss…but the money is for adult only..children do not request for that.

Another requirement is all bank statement or bank documents have to verify by bank.I just printed out my online statement without verify by bank, so it got rejected.

Anyway, glad that we had no problem for second submission. Got the Visa 3 days after.

Bring Or Not Bring Children To Tokyo

By admin | September 10, 2008

I strongly suggest parent bring their children who is four years old and above to Japan, because Japan really a children friendly country which provide the best services to the children. They are free to use most of the facilities such as bus, JR train, Entrance to interesting place and etcs. Meal and hotel will be charge for children above 4, depends on they Rules & regulations. Some hotel even provides free stay for children below 12.

BUT! Frankly, I will only bring ONE child to visit Tokyo City. From my point of view, it is quite hard to bring two children there.

Moreover, I will avoid bringing kids below three to Tokyo. Reasons -

I wrote a post right after back from Tokyo. The feeling of not to bring two children to long vacation was so strong. Fatty and I feel relieved once we got down from the flight at KLIA. We really felt like the 9days vacations was actually quite torture. We were 24 hours taken care of SQKiki, of course, there was some happy moment as well, but we just could not fully enjoy the trip. We felt abit exhausted that is why we felt relieved after back to KL. Finally, SQKiki don’t need our fully attention anymore.

Now is already two months after the trip. The feeling is a little different, as I am a very forgetful person. I will always repeat the same regret and complaint again after that. I may bring them to vacation again and forget about the torture time we have in Tokyo. However, I am trying to remind myself not to repeat the same regret again, at least not for these 2 years.

Tokyo Day 9 : Sayonana Tokyo, Japan!

By admin | September 8, 2008

SQ and Kiki were very tired. They were sleeping in the flight for more than 4 hours (for two flights total 8 and 1/2 hours). I able to watched two movies in flight! Really, break record. However, my problems started after Kiki awake. She was a koala bear and being very fussy. I couldn’t even go to toilet. She cried like hell once I put her down. She wants me to carry and hug her. Lucky, we were sitting in the flight, if not I think my hand will break lor.

Last picture taken at Japan - Sky! haha…taken at flight lor..

We do not have much time to spend in Hong Kong airport actually. Although, it was 2 hours apart but we left not much time to rush from the arrival hall to departure hall. It only left about half hour before boarding time when we arrived departure platform. Fatty went to enjoy his smoke and I have to take care of two children. I don’t even have time to shop or walk around the airport. Well, maybe next time, I will have chance to come back again.

9.45am - from Tokyo
1.00pm - arrived Hong Kong
3.25pm - from Hong Kong airport
7.00pm - arrived Kuala Lumpur.

Here is the funny thing I found after arrived my home. A kitchen without using of people really too boring already. Therefore, it wants to plant this to accompany. I cannot remember I ate sprout bean at home before my vacation.

Sorry! forgot where I put the photo liao..will upload later :p

Tokyo Day 9 : Airport Bus To Narita Airport

By admin | September 5, 2008

I went into the Disney Ambassador Hotel to collect our bus ticket. We had paid total 4,800yen for 2 adults airport bus tickets at the right hand side counter, left hand side is hotel check in counter. We were waiting at the bus stop, which located at outside of the hotel only. The bus arrived early but the check in staff was late. He looks quite hurry to label our luggage and stroller when arrived. There was not much passengers take airport bus in the early morning. The bus stop at the hotel listed in the timetable, it were about 10 to 15 passenger included children.

We departure from the Disney Ambassador Hotel at 6.55am and arrived Narita airport terminal 2 around 8am. It still very early as our flight is at 9.45am. I told the Cathay Pacific staff we already done online check in and then he brought us to another lane that nobody! Yes, no people there included the check in staff. anyway, the staff ran to us when we stand in front of the counter, it only took us 5 mins to check in. Haha

We brought SQKiki to playground after check in. Fatty and I take turn to take care of them. I went finish the yen we leave when Fatty take care of them. Mostly buy some snacks and sweets. I saw the Tokyo bananas are selling at 950 yen per box there! aiyoh..rugi …should buy in tax-free airport!

I totally had forgotten about the 2 Suica card that should return and take back our 1000 yen deposits. The card still with me now, haii.. Keep it as souvenirs lor… Who knows I may have chance to use it in Japan again ler..:p

Tokyo Day 9 : Taxi To Disney Ambassador Hotel

By admin | September 4, 2008

We waked up at 5am. We were not feeling sleepy or lazy to wake up at all. I think that was the weather influenced us. The sky was very bright; 5am in Tokyo looked like 8am in Malaysia already. Then take time to change the kids and packed all the stuff inside luggage and final check our room so that would not leave any things there.

I had made milk to SQKiki as breakfast and we have our simple breakfast very relaxing. Our breakfast was the instant food we bought last two days. We have to finish it by this morning because no storing place to put these stuffs in our luggage already. Lucky, not much things leave actually. Still cannot finish the fruit juice and one Japanese triangle rice.

So many luggage to carry back home. :p

We went down to the lobby at 6.15am to check out and double confirm the taxi booking is on the way. We had to pay for additional charged of the buffet breakfast, dinner and the food Fatty bought from the machine, total was 6000 yen plus. Then we were waiting the taxi at the entrance. The taxi arrived sharpen a 6.30am. The driver helped us move the luggage in after confirmed our name. It was just 5 mins drive from Myspa Maihama hotel to Disney Ambassador Hotel. It cost us 890 yen, the price just jump from 690 yen to 890 yen when we arrived. RM27 for 5 mins drive, Yes it is expensive but save energy to walk for 10 mins together with huge luggage and active children. OK lah.
