Summer Trip Day 3 : Paradise Country Farm, Gold Coast
By admin | March 11, 2010
I thought we need at least 1 hour to arrive Gold Coast. I was wrong, it only took us 40 minutes to arrive Gold Coast Paradise Country Farm. We reached there at 9.15am and still have to wait it open. Tour period is 9.30am – 1.00pm, so we have to wait for another 15mins. We met a Malay family in the waiting booth too. They are come from Penang. So good to chat with them in Bahasa Malaysia.
We booked Paradise Country Farm tour thru telephone before departure. AUD46.60 after discounted (Price at AUD51 – 56 if buy at counter) + AUD3.95 booking fees.

9.30am, a tram took us into farm and stop us in front of a souvenir shop. There is a counter besides the shop, you could get a show translator headset there. Translator language available in Japanese, mandarin and Korean (if no mistake).
We paid AUD16.00 to take photo with Koala Bear. The photo background is very fake! All of the people are having the same position and post to carry the koala bear. Well, hard to say is it worth or not to take that photo. Anyway, four of us are in the photo, I am the one carry the koala bear.
Not fun enough lah.. I only managed to carry koala bear for less than 5 minutes ler.. it’s nail is very sharp! I think I would be in trouble if it angry. :p

Next is a mini show of cow boy billy tea time. Wear on our headset and another staff would translate the host words in the language you selected. Almost 99% guests in Paradise Country Farm today is yellow Skin, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Seem like only we want to see what farm life in Australia is. haha

Billy tea and don’t know what cow boy bread really to serves after the show. The bread is abit hard but it taste quite good after you sip some tea and mixed it in mouth. Another Stock Horse Round-up show is there while we enjoying the tea and bread.

Then is Boomerang Throwing demonstration, whip cracking demonstration, sheep dog muster and final one is sheep shearing show and ram parade.

All shows ended at 11.45am. Oh yes.. I have to blog that I bought 2 types of Lanolin Cream there. Selling at AUD9 and AUD8. If you really want to buy, please buy at Surfers Paradise, I saw it selling at AUD5.00 – 7.50 only. I spent too much to buy that in Paradise Country Farm. *sigh*
Next is lunch time already! Before this we already selected our main course. Choice of Chicken, Fish, beef and vegetarian. This four type of main course looks so “dried” no sauce one. Look at below photo, you would get only one piece of fish or beef or chicken from the counter. below is 2 main courses already. Fish and Chicken.

Anyway, lucky there are other foods is serve in buffet style one. Salad, bread, miso soup, white rice, spagetthi, potato with creamy sauce, cracker, watermelon, honeydrew, coffee and tea.

We are very full after lunch. Because we took quite many spagetthi and white rice. Although it quite tasteless but added some pepper and salt then taste better already.
Tour dismissed after lunch. It was only 1.00pm after the tour.

Summer Trip Day 3 : Hertz Car Rental at Trickett Street, Brisbane
By admin | March 8, 2010
Today have to wake up early as well. I already inform Hertz car rental company, we would collect the car at 7.30am. So that we have time to reach Gold Coast Paradise Country Farm before 9.30am. I am worry we would spend time on searching the place.

We already packed everything yesterday night. I just cooked some simple pasta in the morning as our breakfast. Fatty and I the leave apartment to Hertz at 7.00am. While Lena them have to clean up the apartment kitchen, check out and wait us at lobby to pick them up.
Fatty and I walk from South Brisbane to Trickett Street that nearby Queen Street Mall. Due to some mistake we spent 45 minutes to reach Hertz office! Very tired ler!
We still have to queue to get our car, there were few people in font of us. However, processing of register is fast. It only take us 10 minutes to complete the progress and the car already waiting us at outside.
We rented a Toyota Camry Sedan (Altis) for 3 days from 19 – 21 January 2010. Collect at Brisbane city and return at Surfers Paradise. Its original cost AUD210+ but I found some discount code online ( I used this CDP Discount Plan code no. 1820770) and final cost is AUD185.85 without extra insurance. And we paid by cash to avoid 0.08% credit card charges, anyway they need our credit card (without charge into card) as guarantee too.
We got the sky blue Toyota Camry Sedan. Everything look new and very nice. The time we collected the car was at 8000 plus km only. Still new ah..

It was already 8.15am when we back to apartment to pick up Lena and her hubby. We made a few mistake on road after left the apartment. Wasted some time but was managed to reach Pacific Hwy 15 mins later.

Summer Trip Day 2 : Moreton Island Picnic Lunch & Beautiful Beach
By admin | February 28, 2010
Next destination in Moreton Island after sand boarding is guided Four Wheel Drive island tour to see the historic Moreton Lighthouse and lookout. Tour package stated that it is perfect spot for whale watching, but too bad the time we go is not in season. sob

Above is the perfect spot area for whale in season. Of course, we see no whale since we past the season. However, we managed to spot 4 dolphins!

Look at the black dot.. there are dolphin swimming in ocean!

We stopped at blue lagoon for lunch after visit to lighting house. Below is our lunch Chicken Burger and ham burger. Portion is big but we are too hungry liao.. Fatty and I finished our own food even its big. haha

Lunch come with snack, an apple and a bottled of drink. We selected coke as drink. Oh yes.. forget to mention there are few food selection for you to choice. We picked chicken and ham burger only.

After lunch is the time to play water and sunbath. I finally understand why most ang moh likes to sun bath at beach. The sun was big enough to burn my skin when I sit on the beach, but I did not feel hot at all! Cool winds combined with hot sun is equal to WARM! I am feeling warm to sleep on beach and having sunbath! Then, I realise that why they like to take off bra to sunbath d.. I so tempt to do so when sleep on beach! Because I am worry I could not get equal brown colour on skin. ![]()

Look at this beautiful beach with clean water and soft sand. I bet you could not resist to jump into sea and take sun bath there.

There is a Coffee pool in blue lagoon. So funny to look at this pool.. The water is very clean although it is in coffee colour. There also another Fresh water pool at behind of blue lagoon. We went to there to clean ourself after play sea water. It give us a fresh feeling to dress back our clothing. It just like we have take bath after play salt water.. wouldn’t stingy at all.. Prefect match!

Super white and soft sand. It’s hot under sun but cold under shade place. So big different. Our tour guide warning us must take good care of our camera and handphone. Not to drop them on sand, else our gadget surely would spoilt one. Those sand will easily go into gadget and damage it. No joke, I wear tied pant that day but still many sand went into my pant even I never take off my pant ![]()

Our tour Guide Kim – pick up a dead jelly fish to show us.

We back to the ferry at 4.15pm and it departure back to Port of Brisbane at 5pm. 4 of us are very tired after a whole day tour.. all of us sleep on ferry..well, no bed of course, we just sat with any position that is ok for us to sleep.

Summer Trip Day 2 : 4×4 wheel Full Day Moreton Island Tour – Sand Boarding
By admin | February 25, 2010
Micat Ferry & Tour Package – http://www.moretonventure.com
There are already 6 – 8 passengers in van before we arrived at Holiday Inn hotel. We are the last patch of customers. :p Then, van stop at 2 – 3 hotel and station to pick up another 3 – 6 persons before departure to Port of Brisbane – Micat Ferry Jetty.

We arrived Jetty around 8am. Tour guide bring us to the seat reserved for us and explain something to us. Sorry that my English is poor, only managed to understand 20% of the explanation.
Light morning tea is service in ferry are included in package. choice of tea, coffee and one piece of cake or biscuit. You just have to show them the Wristbands before place order at bar. Only four of us is light green colour Wristbands – Eco Explorer tour, other is blue that I think is Snorkeling Package.

It took us 1 hour to arrive Moreton Island. We started to put sunblock half hour before arrived. The wind is cold but the sun is hot. Its very easy get burn! so better put many many sunblock haha

Above is the first scene we saw in moreton Island. Snorkeling package start from here. They are changing diving clothes on the spot liao.
I am so surprise that we are the only 4 who took Eco package. That meant we occupied the whole 4 x 4 wheel car! haha.. so great! Our tour guide is a lady named Kim. She is very friendly and nice too. We are very happy with her guide.

A unique plant in Moreton Island. Forget about the name already. Sitting in a 4 x 4 wheel car really like riding horse! We sit at the back and keep bouncing here and there. I have to tied safety belt and hold something to balance myself. Our first activity is sand boarding. It took us 10 – 20 mins to drive through the middle road to dessert.
We done a big mistake of no wear shoes to walk on sand! Kim said it is not necessary to wear shoes so we just walk without shoes lor.. who knows… those sand are hot like no tomorrow! I think it could cook eggs if we put on it. Furthermore, it is so hard to walk on sand. It much different than climbing mountain. and we have to walk very far to climb up to top of dessert. *cry*

I am so scare to board when stand on the top of dessert. I am kitchen heart ler.. it look so scary.. it high and on a slant. However, it is possible for me to walk down also.. damn far away ler… do you see the distance? So die die also boarding down lor.. Me only played 1 time while other played at least twice.

Fatty and other who played twice said they already extremely regret to climb up again on the second time. But they have no selection due to already climb half way..
My opinion on this sand boarding games - try it only if you really sporty and do not might to spend all your energy to walk on extremely hot sand (or you could try it at other season..hehe)
