KK Day 1 : Car Rental In Kota Kinabalu

I was managed to deal with a car rental agent through phone, he agreed to offer us one Kia Pregio at the price of RM230 per day based on 3 days rent periods. However, the deal didn’t work out because all of his van has fully occupied, I am too late to get the deal.
After deal with another three agents, prices we get were RM350, RM350 with driver and RM280 after negotiated. We finally selected the RM280 dairy rental for Kia Pregio. RM20.00 delivery charges to our Condo. Well, the price was the best we could get at that moment, so we have no choice to accept it.
The Kia Van just nice to fit us, 6 adults and 3 children. children have more space to move in the car and my parent can sit with comfortable too. I do not think Toyota Unser or Nissan Serena could offer enough space for us. With Kia Pregio, we have the minimum seat for 2 + 3 + 2 + 2 that is really comfortable to sit. But others just is 2 + 2 + 2 with most comfortable seat.
Tips:
Book the car rental early if the price is acceptable by you. And arrange them to send the car to airport to pick you when arrived.
Don’t book online and at airport counter, the rental are too expensive.

Would be happy to know whether OG Rent-A-Car
is reliable or not. Did you deal with May?
We are going there early May, 2008 and would
like to rent a car from there. Do you have other
contacts other than them?

Yes, I deal with May. She delivered the van to our hotel. Quite a friendly person.
Not sure about OG Rent-A-Car, but you can call them to check price, if the price is ok then better make the reservation directly.
My estimate price range is like below :
Kia Van – RM230.00 – RM300.00
Unser – RM200.00 – RM250.00
Private Car – RM120.00 – RM180.00

I am not quite remember which car rental is that already. But I found their telephone number at http://www.sabahtourism.com/sabah-malaysian-borneo/en/directory/category/16-car-rental, the only thing I could remember is they have no website. So luck your luck and email them to ask.
