KK Day 2 : Gaya Morning Market
By admin | March 20, 2008
We wake up in the very early morning. In fact the sky are bright enough to make you wake up at around 6.30am. Don’t know why it bright so early. We get ready our stuffs and check out directly.
We went to Sunday Morning Market located at Gaya Street. This quite a nice market to visit if compare to the Kampung Air Night Market. I definitely will choose this. It is a nice place to see what is the normally selling “stuffs” in the Kota Kinabalu.
There sell quite a lot of craft items too. Just not as much as the items selling at Filipino market. I only discovered Kota Kinabalu have many Hakka in this morning market. 90% of the Chinese is speaking Hakka here! I suddenly feel like back to Seri Kembangan,

I was planned to buy seafood in Sunday morning for our steamboat dinner at Kundasang, however, I could not find a stall selling seafood, vegetable or any raw food at all! Why huh? Kota Kinabalu market doesn’t sell raw foods? Then where they buy ingredients? Too bad, I forgot to ask Hui Sia where is the wet market. And we ended with no seafood and meat for our steamboat dinner.
I saw few tables is place beside the road and helping people to check blood pressure. Ohh…Government in Sabah provides such free check out in the market ah? I never see KL has this before.
