KK Day 3 : Manukan Island

By admin | May 1, 2008

We leave Kundasang in the early morning around 8am because we are rushing to next destination. We are planned to have a half day trip to manukan Island as I heard many people recommended must visit Manukan Island if we are to Sabah. Therefore, we purposely arrange a half day trip to there.

We stoped at Tuaran for this special Tuaran Mee, another Sabah famous dish that highly recommended by friend. The noodle texture is very good, i like it. However it quite oily in this type of dried mee.

Ferry fees to Manukan Island is not cheap at all. It cost us about RM117.00 for 6 adults and 2 children + 1 baby. Besides the ferry fees, we have to paid for the Marine park fees and don’t know what government cahres..Total cost to Manukan Island was RM175.00.

This is the Manukan Island jetti.

You could see so many fish when you look down from the bridge. I am attracted by those beautiful fish. Remember to bring some bread to feed them if you are there.

However, I am extremely disappointed when I reach the beach. OMG! There are dirty and so many small stones on the beach. It definitely not a beach suitable for children to play. They will get hurt easily. We only stay there about 30 mins and called the boat center to pick us up as soon as possible then. What a waste of time and money to visit Manukan Island. It just totally different from the reviews I read online. I would not come back here again.
