Tokyo Day 2 : Great Boiling Valley (大涌谷 Ōwakudani)

By admin | June 26, 2008

We reached Togendai (桃源台) after the Pirate Ship. Then we have to take the ropeway cable car to Great Boiling Valley (大涌谷 Ōwakudani).

My main purpose is to try their black eggs (黒玉子) cooked at Owakudani. Too bad, their site are under construction now, the restaurant located at uphill is closed. Anyway, we just bought the black eggs at shop which located nearby at 300 yen for 5 eggs. Well, not much different with the egg we eat usually. Just that eating a hot food in cold weather surely makes you feel great. We also bought the black Pao there. I have no chance to taste it, so really don’t know how it’s taste like.

p/s : There are many places selling boiled black eggs in Hakone too. Just the price is a little bit higher than the one we bought at Owakudani.
