Tokyo Day 4 : Lunch At Shinjuku

By admin | July 9, 2008

We have lunch at Shinjuku after purchased the camera. This was the first time I am tried the order machine. I don’t know I have to order the food in machine until a waiter told me to do so. She speaks Mandarin, wow…there are quite a lot of worker know Chinese in Tokyo also. Anyway, I still do not know how to use the order machine yet. While me looking at the machine and think what to eat, of course have to think how to use the machine with much food photo display there. Lucky a Japanese couple come in on time and I just let them order 1st, so that I could copy their steps. :p

Finally, I know how to make my order. Insert the money into machine, order the food by pressing the button (siao..Who doesn’t know it? :p), then the food ticket will print out. You could continue to make your second order using the balance of the money or top up money or just press cash out the balance. Take your food ticket and pass to the waitress then they will ready the food to you soon. Quite easy actually.

I ordered two bowls ramen (690 – 890 Yen) and a simple rice set (450 Yen) with fried dumpling. Quite surprise that the cheapest the most yummy. Haha…The simple rice set topping with minced meat taste great! Of course the ramen also not bad lah..

I notice that most of the Japanese does not order drink when eating outside. I have been visit to few restaurant, all of them serve either cold water or hot green tea with FREE. They just place the teapot on the table and you could drink as much as you like. I feel I am quite waste because have ordered drink for SQ and Kiki. :p..1 cup of drink does not cost cheap oh…1 glass of coke will cost around 200-300 yen in restaurant and 130-150 yen in vending machine. I better save the money and order another simple meal oh?
