Autumn08 Day 2 : Rushing to HiGaShiYaMa Ivy Hotel

We have to reach Higashiyama Ivy Hotel before 8pm because there is no office staff after 8pm. I know they would wait if I email them for late check in. However, I think we would manage to arrive before 8pm, so I did not inform that we would be late.
We left Nara around 6.30pm and arrived to Kyoto Station at 7.00pm. We have still have time to walk for a while in Kyoto station. We decided to pack dinner in Kyoto station and have our dinner in hotel. We bought some food as tomorrow breakfast too.
Cabut from Kyoto Station and stop a cab at outside. I do not want to look for bus station because the time is too tight. So, to avoid late arrive to hotel I think better take a cab. I was estimate to pay around 700 Yen to reach the hotel because it is very near actually.
The taxi driver is very good and friendly just as what we usual met in Japan. Help us upload and unload our luggage. He even run (Yes, use his leg to run 
) to check if the hotel is locate in front. The road is very tiny after he turned at the Sunrise Convenient shop. Oh my…Tiny. It is difficult for 1 car to move never say if there is another car coming from front. Because of the tiny road, we stuck in the half way that only 2 mins walk to hotel (BUT WE DIDN’T KNOW IT), we have to pay additional 290Yen lor…So the taxis fare total cost us 980Yen..Strongly suggest you to ask the driver stop at Umamachi Bus Stop (馬町停) if you want to get the minimum taxi fares. Just 3 – 4 minutes to the hotel. Very near.
My heart keep bing-bing-bong-bong while looking at the taximeter…it keeps jumping but we couldn’t move at all…because of other car and also because the driver doesn’t sure where is the hotel. We were quite shocked when saw him get out of tax and running away! Haha
Lucky, he back to taxi very fast and told us the hotel just in front. Therefore, we get down there and walk to the hotel. What a great customer services they provides. This should be one of the reasons let many people visit Japan again. No doubt, money spent here would be higher than other destination but the services you get are worth it.
