Autumn08 Day 3 : Bank In Payment In Japan UFJ Bank

By admin | February 2, 2009

I straightly walked to the UFJ Bank after apart with cousin and sister at Kyoto station bus stop. I tell you what; I am such a stupid people. I already printed the UFJ Bank map. I thought I could find the bank very fast because it is actually just opposite of the Kyoto Station. BUT, I took more than 40minutes to get there because I walked to wrong direction already! So stupid.. I should look around carefully before decide which way to go! The bank actually just opposite of the bus station we get down!

I head to the post office direction and thought that would be the direction to UFJ bank too. (Actually, it is opposite lah..Look at above map!). I had turned a big round and walked like hell. I had asked few people and showed them the map as well. But they look very blur also…couldn’t really give me answer. Lucky, I finally met a postman who is delivering letter to a shop. Quickly “grab” him while he walked out from the shop and ask the direction to UFJ bank. Stupid I wasted 40 minutes in looking for bank. Bank in payment transaction is only 10 minutes! Ok lah..Still manage to complete first mission in one-hour time.

I used ATM machine to bank in the payment to a seller for my online purchase. Of course, I did not know how to use their ATM machine because I did not know Japanese. A bank officer guides me to complete the whole transaction. They really have very nice customer services. Greeting everyone and ask if need help once they step in the bank. I of course become someone who needs help lor. Although she is not understand English, but we still managed to communicate by body language. Printed out all the information in paper is very important as you can show them directly without speak a word!

To bank in payment through Bank ATM Machine, you have to key in below information: -

  1. Sender name – create an account using the name (it automatic recorded your information in their bank system)
  2. Telephone or handphone number – create password to retrieve your information for next transaction you want to make in their system.
  3. Select cash or check option
  4. Receiver bank account number
  5. Receiver bank name – if you don’t know Japanese really don’t know how to select this lor…need help from bank officer
  6. Receiver bank at which branch – same as above, lagi don’t know how to select.
  7. Confirm receiver name
  8. Key in payment amount
  9. Pay the amount that included bank charges – big note also never mind, ATM machine will change for you. Wow.. So advance ah..
  10. Get the change and receipt
  11. SETTLED

Note : I forgot the step-by-step instruction already..Just remember what I have done in the Bank ATM Machine only. Bank charges is much cheaper than what I thought! It was 105Yen per transaction (own bank) only. Not sure how much different if bank in to other bank.

Bank Receipt. Remember to send this receipt to the buyer so that they could arrange to delivery as soon as possible.
