How to Bank In Cash At Japan Convenient Shop
By admin | February 16, 2009
Before I continue my travelogue, I have to publish below post which already saved in draft for quite some time.
I posted a question in Yahoo! answer regarding my shopping in Japan. Thanks to kind person who answer my question and share their knowledge with me.
QUESTION :
I am trying to order at a Japanese Shop but the shop does not accept international Credit card. They request me to bank in cash to them when arrived Japan.
Convenience store payment is the way as follows.Order at the online shop and get some digits for payment confirmation number through purchase confirmation. It may be with client number together. The sheet must be better printed for presenting at the convenience store for payment just in case.
Go near 7/11, Lawson, Family mart etc big chains of convenience stores and propose the clerk for payment against internet shopping.
Some chain needs the both numbers, some request you machine payment(for getting their own new number by using original confirmation number). Any way you pay in Cash together with the transaction to the clerk directly. You must keep the receipt for evidence of the payment for sure.
It is online payment and the seller will receive the payment immediately. They can recognize your payment with the number they gave and deposited money automatically.
One thing you must be sure is if your address for the goods to be delivered is really alright for the seller. I think your hotel or temporary address is quite doubtful for shipment even If the seller accept international shipment, it would be no problem though.
Most of all convenience stores have bank ATM, which accepts international plastics usually. You can withdraw Japanese Yen 100,000 with a bit worse exchange rate there
