Day 1 : Car Rental In Langkawi

By admin | June 7, 2010

20 March, 2010 (3.20pm – 4.00pm)

Arrived Langkawi Airport at 3.20pm. I went to hunt for car rental while Fatty waiting for luggage. There are L shape car rental counters in front of the luggage collection area; I think there have more than 15 counters. All the car rental staffs are screaming you to rent car, so you do not have to worry you could not get car. However, later I only know that most of them are from the same company, they just separate into different counters to hunt more customer. Haha.. I have no idea which car rental to go, so just simply went to one counter and negotiate the price. At first, they offered me RM80 for a Manual Proton Iswara or Wira, both are old car. Then I negotiated until RM180 for New Proton Saga for 2 and half days. We would return the car at 9.30pm – 10pm. Therefore, Average is about RM72.00 per day, the price still acceptable lor.

I requested to pay after inspect the car only and they have no problem with that. Therefore, we went out to wait for the car after Fatty collected our luggage. Everything looks good after inspected the car, it still look new and clean. Therefore, we paid total RM230, which are RM180 rental + RM50 deposit to the staff at outside. We have to pump petrol after get the car as they do not provide petrol, but it is enough for you drive to petrol station nearby. The car rental agent told us where the nearest petrol station is before we leave. We pump RM60 for 2 and half days only, because we already planned to spend our time in hotel and would not go around as much as previously.

New Proton Saga we rented, is it good enough for 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults.

Oh yes, I got their name card also. If interested you may call them directly but I am not sure the price they give would cheaper than what you get locally or not.
