Day 1 : Langkawi Awana Porto Malai Hotel
By admin | June 11, 2010
20 March, 2010 (4.00pm – 6.30pm)
We arrived Awana Porto Malai around 4.15 pm. I went to check in alone and Fatty forced to accompany Sqkiki in car because they already slept. I see not many hotel guests in the lobby; therefore, I dare to ask the reception give us a free upgrade of hotel room. First receptionist told me we have to pay for the upgrade, which is RM50 for Superior Sea View Room and RM90 for Deluxe Sea View Room. While I tried to bargain with her, another girl is coming out. Think that is her senior, she served me then, at first saying that need to top up RM40 for upgrade to Superior Sea View but later agreed to free upgrade our room. Well, I did try to ask for deluxe Sea View Room but she insists Superior was the best she could offer.

After settle our luggage in room, SQ and Kiki keep request me to bring them to swimming pool, so I forced to go with them while Fatty is relaxing and sleep in the home. There are two swimming in the hotel. One for adult and another one for kids. Kid’s pool separated into two parts, one as show in below photo, completed with little mushroom falling water and a slice. The just without the entertainer. SQ and Kiki enjoy the pool very much, especially the slice. Kiki does not scare of playing in this swimming pool, I think the pool is from flat to maximum one and half meter deep. She surely would not get choke by water this time. There also a small children sand box and Herb Garden located beside the children swimming pool.

I quite regret didn’t bring my swim suit to the swimming pool also, I thought to look them play only due to laziness, but now I wish I could play with them because the weather is hot and there look fun to play in the pool. Anyway, I went back room to take my swimsuit and play with them together. That took us two hours to play in the pool. The waterfall at the kid’s pool provides good massage for me. Haha..It would be a perfect hotel for children if it s has beach. Although the hotel is facing sea but you could only walk on the boardwalk like at the jetty, of course there would be the best place for sunset view, just that I could not find beach there.
