Summer Trip Day 7 : Seafood Buffet at Four Winds Crown Plaza

By admin | May 18, 2010

7.15pm went down and ask the reception where the taxis stand is. Then heading to the station and met Lena half way. They have to keep the shopping spree in hotel first, and then only went to take taxi together.

It cost us AUD8.40 for that only few minutes journey from Surfer Paradise to Crown Plaza. Very expensive. Lift is not function to level 26 between 7.30pm to 8pm, so we could not go into restaurant even we arrived early. I steal 10 mins to online and was thinking to online check in, but later did not do so because I forget that I need to print after check it. Moreover, it cost AUD0.50 for each paper print out. Wow… then I would need to pay AUD4.00 to print already. Hay… forgets about it lah…

8pm we are in the Crown Plaza Four Winds restaurant already. Frankly, I am very disappointed with the “quantity” food served. I could count it only have 4 tables is serving food, which about 30 – 40 types of food and 10 – 15 types of dessert only. So little! This Four Winds restaurant is open for couple or people who want to “eat” romantic environment and not food. I forget about the space of this “moving” top restaurant, they have limited space actually. It’s only a circle that most fix around 100 – 200 person or maybe lesser than I expected..

Needless to say, the Mud Crab I am looking forward taste are not here, they are serveing sand crab! Why their advertisement picture showed in the travel booklet had mud crab? Are they trying to con people like me?

Well, Prawn and crab is steamed and oyster is raw. How could I say they are not good? Lucky the seafoods are fresh and taste good. So still ok lor..

p/s : photos captured with phone only..I forgot to bring my flashgun! So no nice photos lor

Yeap.. One more.. they would prepare a glass bowl per table for you to collect those prawn shell and crab shell and they would replace a new one when it is full. According to waitress, table that used the most many bowl could win some price. I think we have collected 3 bowl of shells. However, we do not know who is the winner because they never tell us when would announce the winner name. We leaved the restaurant around 9.30pm but still no hear them announce anything. Haha

We are waiting for taxi at outside of Crown Plaza Hotel. There are no taxi stop there actually, except taxi that fetch passenger to the hotel. We were lucky thought, a taxi arrived after waited for 10 – 15 minutes. Taxi fare from Crown Plaza Hotel to Vibe Hotel cost us almost AUD10 due to an extra U-turn at the return journey.
