Summer Trip : Expensive Taxi Fare

September 06, 2007 (6.30pm – 6.45pm)
Here is my most expensive taxi fare in Hong Kong. That driver is cunning and purposely charge us so much!
We took two taxi the taxi at Pram station exit. That was our mistake, we should not take taxi at the exit. But we have no time to think of it. The taxi driver is waiting at the exit door and straight away asked if we want taxi, due to many people at the back and waiting to go out and there are limited space for us (a group of 8 people) to stop and think. We just answered yes and get into his taxi. He also get another taxi that is from same gang to fetch my parents and sister.
I already notice there is something wrong after in his car but just could not tell what is it. I saw his taxi meter price started at HKD18.00.. That driver “being” so good and keep talking to us like introduce the building name and its history (I already suspect he is purposely do not want us to look at his meter. So, I keep looking at the meter and the meter is jumping HKD10.00 for every few minutes. It suppose to jump at HKD1.50 per 200 meter and I saw the meter jumped 2 time and the fare already shoot to HKD38.00! I did asked him why the fare so expensive but he ignored my question (i sat at back) and my stupid hubby go to pay them HKD38.00 while I busy take care of SQ and Kiki!
It was less that 10 minutes drive from Peak Tram Station to Central Yong kee Restaurant, and we paid HKD38.00 for each taxi! My sis paid the same amount too. See.. They are same scam gang.
Please ask the taxi driver for FARE RECEIPT if they really charge you expensive fare. We could use the receipt to report this scam to Hong Kong Government. I only know about this after complaint to another taxi driver, he said we must get receipt from them so that the record would be in their taxi system which could avoid them simply charge you.
